Full Program

Full program follows the study materials and curriculum of Geshe study on the Sera Jey Monastic University. This will be accredited courses. The main requirement to attend the full program is the student’s dedication to serious long-term study. The main program consists of two sections.

  • Classes on Buddhist philosophy and debate
  • Classes on Tibetan language and grammar (including translation)

Notes:

  • Monks and nuns are required to learn Tibetan, for lay people this is optional.
  • If a prospective student does not know how to read Tibetan, which is prerequisite for enrolling in the language classes, SICGU will provide them additional alphabet classes.
  • Since the main study is focused on the religious scriptures, it is expected that the language study is accompanied with the philosophy study, which is designed to provide the precise understanding of the scriptural terminology. This is particularly important for translations.
